The murder of the MP for Mfantseman Constituency, Ekow Quansah Hayford has increased calls by members of parliament for protection.
To this effect, the government is set to deploy personal bodyguards to all Parliamentarians to ensure their safety.
The Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery who disclosed this said it was part of measures to counter the growing cases of attacks on public officials in the country.
Today on Newsfile, host Samson Lardy Anyenini will find out if this is an unusual routine or not by interacting with Professor Kwesi Aning who is the Director for the Faculty of Academic Affairs and Research at KAIPTC, and Dr. John Osae- Kwapong who is a political scientist and a member of the IRIS Research Consortium.
Joining the discussion is the Editor in Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako.
For the next segment, the show will focus on the independent MP candidate phenomenon - Good or Bad.
With less than 3 months to the general elections, some parliamentary candidates belonging to both the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have gone independent.
Already the NPP says its members who decided to file nomination forms as independent parliamentary candidates have automatically forfeited their membership of the party.
President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia have also been urging party supporters not to back members going independent.

But will this affect the polls?
Mr. Kweku Baako and Dr. Osae-Kwapong will join Dr. Emmanuel De-Graft Johnson Owusu-Ansah and host, Samson Lardy Anyenini to throw more light on the development.
