It is believed that the current challenge facing the Ghana Cedi is not just about Ghana’s Fiscal situation, Limited supply of dollars or even the activities of speculators.
Rather, challenges with the strict enforcement of the country’s Foreign Exchange Laws, especially when it comes the forex activities and Forex Bureaus in the country, have been cited.
One cannot forget about the activities of Forex Bureaus in the country and how this has brought some pressure on the Ghana cedi.
How do we empower Ghanaians in our quest to deal with Money Laundering, Foreign Exchange Transactions, and Selling of Forex in the country? What about issues covering the identity of Ghanaians and protecting them when they engage these foreign exchange companies?
Against this backdrop, the Business Edition of PM Express will tonight discuss: Bank of Ghana and the Foreign Exchange business.
Guest: Dr. Joseph France, Head of Financial Stability at Bank of Ghana.
