The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to the robbery and murder of two mobile money vendors in the region.
According to the police in a statement, the first incident occurred on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Krofrom, where the victim, Patricia Nimako, was attacked and killed, with the assailants making away with an undisclosed sum of money.
It stated that the second incident took place on the night of Monday, March 10, 2025, when the victim, Gideon Owusu Sarpong, also known as "Junior," was robbed and murdered at his residence in Kwadaso.
Following extensive investigations, the police have arrested Charles Kwame Danso, 23, also known as "Kwame Charles" or "Miami," Philip Foujour, 29, and Samuel Addae Mensah, 42, on March 21, 2025, at Pankrono and Atimatim.
The statement noted that the suspects are currently in police custody and will soon be arraigned before the court.
The police have stated that efforts are ongoing to locate a fourth suspect, Martin Amoah, alias Augustine Amoah or "Baba Macho," who is believed to be hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Diaso (near Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Central Region), or Accra.
The Police Command is appealing to the public for assistance in locating Amoah.
"Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Police via the Toll-Free number 191,112 (18555 MIN and Telecel)," the statement read.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring justice and urged citizens to remain vigilant in helping bring all responsible individuals to book.
