Three suspects have been arrested in the Sagnarigu Municipality of Tamale for allegedly selling illicit drugs.
The suspects, identified as Mohammed Abdul Latif, Godwin Anyangkpala, and Mohammed Inusah, were apprehended at Taha, a community within the Tamale Metropolis, following credible intelligence.

According to Chief Inspector Abdulai Tahiru, leader of the IGP Special Operations Team, four boxes of Royal 250mg tablets, commonly referred to as "Red," were retrieved from Mohammed Abdul Latif's possession, adding that further searches led to the retrieval of 23 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and 10 sachets of Royal 250mg tablets from Godwin Anyangkpala.

"During the course of the patrol, the team acted on credible intelligence which resulted in the arrest of three suspects," he said.
Chief Inspector Abdulai Tahiru said Mohammed Inusah, who admitted to harbouring the two suspects, was also arrested for facilitating their nefarious activities.

"The suspects were operating from his residence, and he was subsequently arrested for harbouring individuals engaged in drug peddling activities," Chief Inspector Tahiru explained.

The suspects have been taken into custody, and the exhibits are being held for forensic examination and evidential purposes.

He said the operation, which was carried out in conjunction with other security agencies, demonstrates the Ghana Police Service's commitment to combating the scourge of illicit drugs in the country.

"This operation sends a strong message to would-be offenders that the police will not tolerate any form of criminal activity in the Tamale Metropolis," Chief Inspector Tahiru warned.
He assured that the police are working tirelessly to ensure that the suspects face the full force of the law.
