The Sekondi Police have arrested a 24-year-old farm labourer for abducting and defiling a 14-year-old girl.
The suspect, Stephen Gyan, alias Oforiwa, was arrested for allegedly defiling the victim on February 9 this year at Komfeiku in the Shama District of the Western Region.
Sources at the Western Regional Police Crime Office told the GNA in Sekondi on Tuesday that the complainant, Francis Ahenekwa who is the father of the victim, reported the incident to the police on February 10.
The police issued a medical form to the victim and after a medical examination, it was confirmed that the victim had been defiled.
The suspect is in police custody assisting the police in their investigations.
