The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with a violent armed robbery that occurred in December, 2025 at Nkaseim in the Ahafo Region.
According to a post shared on Facebook by the Police, the incident took place on December 2, 2025, when the suspects, acting in concert with other accomplices and armed with weapons, mounted a coordinated attack on several locations within the Nkaseim community.
The assailants reportedly blocked the Goaso–Tepa road before launching simultaneous assaults on the Nkaseim Police Station, the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company and areas around the Asutifi Rural Bank.
During the operation, the attackers succeeded in seizing two AK-47 rifles from the police station and made away with undisclosed sums of money from the bank.
They also stole GH¢14,000 from the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company and GH¢12,000 from the Kobby Gold Buying Company. In the course of the robbery, an employee of the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company was shot and sustained injuries.
The Police said sustained intelligence-led operations and forensic investigations led to the arrest of the first suspect, Mutar Kofi, aged 35, a commercial tricycle rider.
He was apprehended on 16 January 2026 at a location known as “Ata ne Ata” near Nkaseim and subsequently admitted his involvement in the robbery.
Further investigations resulted in the arrest of additional suspects, including Mahamadu Sagio, aged 45, at Nkaseim; Shaibu Issah Jallo, also known as Jibo, aged 28, at Chereponi; and Abdul Suleman, aged 40, at Tanga near Karaga in the Northern Region. On 25 January 2026, a fifth suspect, Bukari Sulley, alias Tailor, aged 25, a trader operating at Alaba in Kumasi, was also arrested in connection with the case.
The Police disclosed that efforts have been intensified to apprehend three other suspects — Dauda, Mohammed Ali and Hoyeefi — who is believed to be the leader of the criminal gang.

Hoyeefi is also suspected to be in possession of the stolen rifles and other firearms used during the attack.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that it remains committed to tracking down the remaining suspects and ensuring that all those involved in the robbery are brought to face the full rigours of the law.
