JoyNews’ multiple award-winning journalist, Latif Iddrisu, has travelled back to the United States of America for medical attention to the head injury he suffered in 2018.
Latif Iddrisu suffered a skull fracture when he was assaulted in the line of duty by some Police personnel.
On March 27, 2018, Mr Latif was brutally assaulted by some officers of the Ghana Police Service at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)’s Headquarters when he was preparing to file a live report on TV.
The Police attacked him because he had asked one of the officers a question to facilitate his report.
The decision to seek medical attention in the USA has become necessary because the journalist has experienced persistent relapses in his condition over the last few weeks.
So far, the Police administration says it is unable to identify the officers who assaulted the journalist because their CCTV cameras did not capture that particular scene.
A court hearing about the case is expected to commence in the coming months.
