The Police Service has arrested one of its officers, General Lance Corporal Victor Antwi Yeboah, who was captured in a video sexually harassing a female in a vehicle.
A press release signed by Director General of Public Affairs, ACP Kwesi Ofori, indicating the arrest, revealed that General Lance Corporal Victor Antwi Yeboah who is stationed at the Regional Operations Unit of the Bono Regional Police Command had violated the dignity of the victim.
According to the Service, this was determined after preliminary investigations into the matter.
"The Police Administration has seen a video in which a person in a Police uniform was captured allegedly sexually harassing a female in a car. On reviewing the video, the Police Administration immediately launched an investigation into the accident.
"Preliminary investigation indicates that the male person involved in that shameful and despicable act is a Police officer stationed at the Regional Operations Unit, Bono Regional Police Command," parts of the statement read.
The viral video sighted by Myjoyonline.com shows the Police officer touching the thighs of the victim with his lips and hand while she registers her displeasure over the incident. He threatens to slap her.
She screams: "What are you doing? Are you touching me?" and the Police officer replies: "I will slap you.. we are not doing anything...and you are naked and I am touching."

Currently, the said police officer is assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, the Police Service has rendered an unqualified apology to the affected party "for what she experienced" and to the general public "since the matter affects the very moral foundation of our country."
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, has given the assurance to provide the victim with psychological care and trauma therapy.
He has also assured a thorough investigation into the matter and to provide further updates.
"The Police Administration further assures the victim and the public that full investigations will be conducted into the matter and the public will be updated in due course."
