NPP to pass sports bill into law
The New Patriotic Party’s Osei-Bonsu Amoah, who was a former Deputy Minister for Education Science and Sports identified sports as a major ingredient in improving the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
According to him, his party will focus on the passing of a governing law for sports which will include the establishment of a sports fund to provide funding for sports projects.
“We see the development of sports beginning from the schools and we want to equip our educational institutions to ensure the proper discovery and grooming of talents,” he said.
He also revealed that a major priority should the NPP win Election 2012, will be to complete the University of Ghana’s Sports Stadium which was started during the tenure of Ex-President Kufuor.
