Persons wanting to fly to Europe in the coming months should be prepared to pay a little bit more for their airline tickets.
This follows the implementation of a carbon tax for airlines flying to Europe from beginning of this year.
Chair of the Board of Airline representatives in Ghana, Tosan Wood however tells Joy Business persons who have already bought their tickets might not be affected for now.
“The law has been in effect for two years it’s just taking effect now. It is only when the airline in question exceeds its carbon limit or carbon allowance...in the long round, it would be added on if necessary.”
She adds that airlines have to strategize to ensure they don’t lose out
