The host of 'Good Evening Ghana' show on Metro TV has said Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi should have apologised for endorsing a coup in the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) era.
Paul Adom-Otchere said that step would be a deterrent for the youth against considering toppling constitutional government.
Commenting on the controversial 'Working with Rawlings' book he argued that all people who were associated with military juntas must include unqualified apologies for undermining the nation's constitutional rule in books they write.
"They must begin with the recognition of an apology of endorsing an illegal act of overthrowing the constitutionally elected government of Dr Limann.
"Going forward, posterity and the younger people must be told that something is wrong and the other is right so when Kwamena Ahwoi writes a book, I expect that he renders an unqualified apology," he said.
Speaking Joy FM's Super Morning Show, the journalist criticised the "obvious" omission.
The former Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (1990 to 2001) and Director of research for the NDC, Prof Ahwoi launched his book, 'Working with Rawlings' on July 31.
The release of this book has been met with severe controversy and criticism of some parts of the book.
In his view, Paul said it is disappointing that this was excluded in Prof Ahwoi's book.
He noted that all participants of the coup must own up and condemn their actions to discourage the undermining of constitutional rule in the future.
"I was hoping that he would but my hopes were dashed, The matters that he aversed on pages 11 and 12 are matters that e should be apologising for. " Mr Adom-Otchere said.
He also added that the book should have hailed Kwesi Pratt who protested the military revolution at the time.
The book highlights Prof Ahwoi's relationship with the then, military ruler, Jerry John Rawlings. It also highlights outstanding events during his time in office.
