Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum, has likened Kwame Opoku's goal-scoring instincts to that of Cameroonian forward, Frank Etouga Mbella.
Ogum's praise for Opoku comes after the striker scored a brace in Kotoko's 4-1 thrashing of Vision FC in matchday 17 of the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking to the media after the game, Ogum revealed that Opoku reminds him of Mbella, who shone under his guidance during the 2021/22 season, helping Kotoko secure the Premier League title. "Yes, he is a photocopy of him, a replica in terms of goal-scoring. Mbella is a killer, and Opoku has those instincts. He knows where he is in front of the goal," Ogum said.
Since joining Kotoko, Opoku has scored four goals in the league, leaving him five goals behind top scorer Faisal Chawetey.
With his current form, Opoku will be aiming to maintain his starting role and help win his first league title with Kotoko this season.
Kotoko's next challenge comes in matchday 18 of the Ghana Premier League, as they face Karela United at the Baba Yara Stadium.
