Kumasi’s modern amusement centre, Rattray Park, has undergone a major facelift to meet demands of event organisers and patrons.
Major developments include reactivation of the park’s main attraction, the dancing fountain, which ceased working following theft of a USB drive said to contain operating software.

Artificial Island is one of the identities of the new Rattray Park. It comes with a beautiful island which lies in-between ultra-modern swimming pool for patrons of all ages.

“We built the pool around so that patrons can cross over and sit there to enjoy themselves. They can have their birthday on the island too if they so choose. So it's a small special island in the middle of a pool," says Isaac Owusu, CEO of Goldprint and Allied Services, new managers of the facility.
The biggest fan park in West Africa sub-region was built at a cost of $4.4 million and was inaugurated in 2015 by former President John Mahama.
The 42,000-metre square land is named after a Scottish colonial government anthropologist, Captain Robert Rattray.
