Real Madrid are nearing a mega deal for Gareth Bale after a verbal agreement was reached between the two clubs according to reports in Spain.
Los Blancos have earmarked the mercurial Welshman as a transfer target and have been pushing for his signature for a while.
Express Sport Online revealed this week that an ÂŁ85m bid had been submitted by Real in a bid to lure Bale from White Hart Lane.
Real boss Carlo Ancelotti confirmed today that the club are in talks with Spurs as they look to negotiate a deal.
This is despite the fact that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been resolute on the matter, insisting Bale is not for sale.
But according to Spanish paper AS, Real are close to completing a deal after verbally agreeing a ÂŁ104m move.
They go on to suggest that there are a few loose ends that need to be tied up and Spurs want Angel Di Maria and Alvaro Morata to be included in part of a package.
Should the deal transpire, it would smash the previous world record set in 2009 when Real splashed out ÂŁ80m for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bale returned to training with Spurs yesterday, however the real acid test will be tomorrow as Tottenham fly out to Monaco ahead of a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
