Real Madrid, on June 15, unveiled the signing of England international Jude Bellingham at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 19-year-old's signing was confirmed by the Spanish club earlier this week with the midfielder joining from Borussia Dortmund.
Madrid made the former Birmingham City midfielder the world’s most expensive teenager, after paying €103 million to Dortmund, making him the seventh English man to play for the La Liga side.
The England midfielder was unveiled at the club's offices and eloquently about his decision to join the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners.
Here are some of the key quotes from Bellingham's first press conference as a Madridista:
- On snubbing the Premier League
“Why Real Madrid over Premier League clubs? I think the respect Real Madrid has in England and the pedigree they have in Europe is huge. I have always watched Real Madrid games. It's very attractive. The Best club in the world."
- On his price tag
"I know that a lot has been paid for me, but the price does not worry me. I'm not a lawyer or an accountant, I'm a player and I'm here to play. I hope my experience helps me deal with the pressure. I don't think I have a problem."
- On whether money was an influence
"Money isn't that important, I didn't think about it. I have never done it to choose the team. I talked to Dortmund, I loved what Real Madrid gave off, I wanted it to be fast."
- On snubbing the Premier League interest
“Why Real Madrid over Premier League clubs? I think the respect Real Madrid has in England and the pedigree they have in Europe is huge. I have always watched Real Madrid games. It's very attractive. The Best club in the world."
