Business registration in Ghana has been made easier, following the automation of the operations of the Registrar General's Department.
No matter where one is located, the person can upload his or her business information online and expect to have the business registered within days.
The e-Registrar Portal provides clients the ability to transact business online with the RGD be it Business Registration, Marriage Registration, Administration of Estates and e-payments.
The Deputy Registrar General, Jemima Oware indicated that existing businesses that do not register on the portal before September 30 would be taken off the records of the Department.
Speaking at the launch, the Minister of Communications and Media Relations, Dr Edward Omane Boamah said the new portal would not only ensure convenience for the business owner but also inspire trust and confidence in the Registrar General’s Department.
He added that it would also eliminate the phenomenon of middle men or “goro boys”.
The Deputy Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine challenged the Registrar General’s Department to ensure businesses could be registered on the portal within 48 hours.
Businesses can register at any of the RGD’s regional offices in Accra, Sekondi-Takoradi, Kumasi and Tamale for Portal Accounts.
