The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has strongly defended the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee and MP for Assin South, Rev John Ntim Fordjour.

Joy News learnt that operatives of the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) stormed the home of the Assin South MP to execute an arrest warrant.

This was corroborated by the General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, who made a post on Facebook on Wednesday, April 9.

Addressing the press on Thursday, April 9, in the company of other party bigwigs who rushed to the MP's house to support him, Afenyo-Markin emphasised that Ntim Fordjour is not alone in his role and has the full support of the Minority caucus.

“Reverend is not a loner, he has not walked alone, and he will never walk alone,” the Minority Leader stated.

He added “As a caucus, we have our various committee heads, and Reverend [Name] is the leader of the Defence and Interior Committee of our caucus. He speaks for the caucus and expresses the views of the caucus."

The Minority Leader made it clear that any efforts to intimidate or undermine the committee leader would not be tolerated.

“Nobody should make any attempt to single him out or try to come here and intimidate him,” he warned.

He further asserted that despite the challenges the MP cum Reverend minister may face, he remains steadfast in his faith and the support of his colleagues.

“He walks through this unfortunate valley of the shadow of death, but he will fear no evil. Because he walks with his God and the strength of the mighty 88 behind him,” Afenyo-Markin added, referring to the caucus members who stand firmly behind their colleague.

The Minority Leader concluded by addressing government officials directly, urging them to cease any further attempts at intimidation. “Enough is enough,” he declared.
