The Rotary Club of Accra Osu Oxford Street has officially handed over a renovated four-classroom block and furniture to the Manhia Primary School and Junior High School in Accra.
The handing over of the project at a cost of GHS 100,000 last Friday was according to the President of the club, Della Kwaku Porbley, “to enhance the learning environment.”
The donation is in line with the club’s ideas of undertaking impactful projects within its area of operation.
In addition to the renovated classroom block complete with new writing boards, the Rotary Club of Accra Osu Oxford Street also refurbished the toilet facilities at the school and furnished the classrooms with new tables and chairs.

“At Rotary, we have set out to positively impact lives in a lasting way and there is no better demonstration of that than education,” Kpobley told the handover ceremony which was also attended by the Accra Metro Education Director.
“Our hope is that the renovated classroom block and enhanced facilities add to the quality of education the pupils get,” he added.
The project was largely championed by the Project Services Director of the Rotary Club of Accra Osu Oxford Street, Linda Amofah aided with technical assistance from Rotarians Carl Max Brew and Curtis Yankah.
In a classic demonstration of the strength of Rotary; the fusion of time and talent to take action and solve some of the world’s pressing problems has seen the organisation achieve the wonderful feat.
Last Friday’s handover was the latest in a long line of projects that RCAOS has undertaken at the Manhia School. The club has organized reading sessions, donated books and undertaken dental clinics at the school in the past.
