Football's governing body, Fifa, has announced Russia and Qatar as hosts of the 2018 and 2022 World Cup tournaments respectively. FIFA President Sepp Blatter announced the verdicts at a gathering of the football hierarchy in Zurich moments ago. Russia beat rival bids from England, Portugal-Spain, Netherlands-Belgium to host the football mundial for the first time. Qatar also edged out Australia, the United States, South Korea and Japan also for a historic first time hosting. Brazil will host the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which will be the 20th FIFA World Cup.
