South African High Commissioner to Ghana says xenophobic attacks in her home country are not the cause of the death of four Ghanaian nationals.
Speaking at the press conference Monday, Ms Lulama Xingwana said of the 10 African nationals confirmed dead in xenophobic attacks, none of them is a Ghanaian.
She detailed the nationalities as two Mozambican, 2 Ethiopians, 1 Zimbabwean,1 Bangladeshi, 1 Swaziland, 1 Somali.
Two South Africans have also died in the attacks which have entered their third week.
Four Ghanaians, including a two-month-old baby were found dead and locked up in a salon in Heibron, South Africa.
It brings to five, Ghanaians dead in South Africa in less than one week.
“So far no one has died from xenophobic attacks in South Africa”, High Commissioner Lulama Xingwana said.

Last week Emmanuel Quarcoo was found dead by a roadside in Durban. In this first death, xenophobic attack has also been ruled out by South African police
