The Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and innovations, Sam George, has announced that Ghanaian students can now access Google’s Gemini App for free for 12 months, alongside 2TB of cloud storage and free AI certification training.
The initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to equip young Ghanaians with cutting-edge technology and digital skills.
“Until December 9, 2025, Ghanaian students can sign up to use @GeminiApp for free for 12 months with 2TB storage. You also get free AI Certification training,” Sam George said in a post on X, urging students to take advantage of the offer.
The programme is part of the Ministry of Communications’ broader partnership with Google, which has already seen the establishment of the AI Research Lab and the One Million Coders Programme. Sam George highlighted that the partnership would continue to expand, benefiting more students across the country.
He added that the initiative is not only aimed at enhancing technological proficiency among students but also at easing financial burdens for families. “This is yet another step to empower our citizens and save money for Ghanaian students and their parents,” he noted.
Eligible students can register via the Gemini Pro portal https://gemini.google/students and apply for the AI training programme https://forms.gle/dDa3S28ZUr3fLGVv5
The offer runs until December 9, 2025, and is open to all qualifying Ghanaian students.
