Samsung Electronics Ghana today introduced Samsung Health to the Ghanaian market, showcasing how the Galaxy Watch8 and Samsung Health Monitor app deliver clinically approved health monitoring features.
These features, including Blood Pressure, ECG, and Sleep Apnea detection, have been validated and approved by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in Ghana, ensuring local credibility and reliability.
The launch took place at ACTIV8 Gym in East Legon, in partnership with the Melcom Group, reinforcing Samsung’s commitment to improving access to digital health innovation in Ghana.
Clinically Approved Health Monitoring Features
- Samsung Health, together with the Galaxy Watch8, provides users with medical-grade tools for preventive care and everyday wellbeing:
- Blood Pressure Monitoring – Measure systolic and diastolic pressure from the wrist (with calibration).
- Electrocardiogram (ECG) – Record single-lead ECGs and detect irregular rhythms such as atrial fibrillation.
- Sleep Apnea Detection – Identify potential signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea.

Beyond clinical features, Samsung Health also offers:
- Vascular Load – Tracks cardiovascular stress during sleep.
- Antioxidant Index – Measures skin carotenoid levels for dietary and wellness insights.
- AGED (Advanced Glycation End-products) Index – Assesses metabolic health linked to diet and lifestyle.
- Energy Score & Sleep Coaching – AI-based scoring with personalised bedtime guidance.
- Holistic Wellness – Stress tracking, mindfulness, fitness coaching, and personalised programs.
Event at ACTIV8 Gym
Guests at the launch event experienced live demonstrations of Samsung Health features, including real-time BP, ECG, and Sleep Apnea checks.
Representatives from Samsung Ghana, alongside executives from Melcom and ACTIV8, shared their commitment to empowering Ghanaians with smarter, accessible health solutions.

Samsung will extend the Samsung Health experience nationwide through a strong network of partners, including: Melcom and ACTIV8 Gyms, Addpharma, Decathlon Ghana, Aviation Social Centre and Samsung Retail Stores across Ghana from Monday, September 1.
