Heavily armed police and military personnel have been deployed to the Brong Ahafo Region town of Sakore, following bloody clashes between feuding factions.
The two factions - suspected to be supporters of two rival political parties - attacked each other with clubs and machetes last Monday, reports indicate.
One Kwame Fosu, 27, also known as Kwame Macho, according GNA reports, suffered multiple cutlass wounds and was rushed to the Goaso Government Hospital.
Assemblyman for Sakore North, Stephen Akowua, said the reason behind the clashes is unknown, but said majority of young men have fled the town.
ACP Patrick Adusei-Sarpong, Deputy Regional Police Commander, told Joy News Wednesday morning, although calm has returned to the Sakore township, the police are on high alert to avert an escalation of the violence.
Describing the situation as unfortunate, he revealed that an investigation has also commenced to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators.
