The Central Regional Police Command has arrested seven suspects in a targeted swoop aimed at dismantling narcotic drug peddling networks within the Cape Coast Metropolis.
The intelligence-led operation, carried out on Saturday, December 13, 2025, focused on known drug bases and hotspots suspected to be hubs for the sale and use of prohibited substances.
The suspects have been identified as Robert Kobbina, Abu Issifu, Janet Mensah, Emmanuel Quarshie, Osei Boateng, Animful Emmanuel, and Charity Nkrumah.

Police first moved in on a known narcotics base at Effutu, where Robert Kobbina and Abu Issifu were arrested.
A search conducted on Robert Kobbina led to the retrieval of assorted narcotic drugs and related items, including sachets and tablets of timaking, Tdrona, royal fart, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, tobacco products, lighters, and several packs of assorted cigarettes.

The operation was later extended to Poly Amisano and Nkanfoa, both identified by police as active drug peddling areas. At Poly Amisano, officers arrested Janet Mensah, Emmanuel Quarshie, Osei Boateng, Animful Emmanuel, and Charity Nkrumah.
A search at a drinking spot operated by Janet Mensah resulted in the recovery of large quantities of cigarettes, tobacco products, lighters, and three jackpot gaming machines. An additional four jackpot machines were seized at Nkanfoa.

All seven suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations. The Central Regional Police Command says those found culpable will be processed for court in accordance with the law, as it continues efforts to clamp down on narcotic-related crimes in the metropolis.
