The Central Regional Police Command has arrested 20 suspects and retrieved narcotic drugs and other incriminating items during a series of targeted security operations carried out as part of Christmas special policing activities across the region.
The intelligence-led operations were conducted at identified crime-prone areas, including Effutu, Poly Amisano, Nkanfoa, Agona Swedru and Agona Nantifa, as police intensified efforts to clamp down on drug peddling and related criminal activities during the festive season.

According to the Police Command, the swoops led to the arrest of 20 individuals suspected to be involved in the sale, possession, and use of narcotic substances, as well as other offences that pose a threat to public safety.
Exhibits retrieved during the operations included quantities of suspected narcotic drugs, gaming machines and other items believed to be linked to criminal activities.

The police say these recoveries form part of a broader strategy to disrupt criminal networks and ensure a safe and peaceful Christmas for residents in the Central Region.
All suspects are currently in police custody assisting investigations, and those found culpable will be arraigned before court in accordance with the law.
