Following the upgrade of its Microwave backbone between Accra and Takoradi telecom operator Tigo, says its customers along the stretch will continue to enjoy a seamless connection every time there is a fibre cut.
The One million dollar project connects through major towns such as Winneba and Mankessim. It will put an end to the disruption of service to customers every time Tigo records a fibre cut along the major route.
Unveiling the project, the Chief Technology and Information Officer, Ron Reddick, was unhappy about the incessant fibre cuts which affect network quality and customers’ ability to do more on the network.
“This upgrade will ensure that every time we have a fibre cut along the Accra-Takoradi stretch, customers will not be affected because they will be migrated unto the Microwave backbone.
“We have improved the capacity on the backbone to accommodate all customers and more and we have also strengthened the terminals to improve on connection” he explained.
