The Member of Parliament for the Sissala West constituency, Mohammed Adams Sukparu has supported two communities in the constituency that are in dire need of a maternity unit and a bridge.

He donated 100 bags of cement to Fatchu community to enable them construct a maternity unit at the Fatchu CHPS compound.

The gesture to the community according to Mr. Mohmmed Sukparu is in response to an appeal made to him by the Assembly Member of Fatchu electoral area, Issaaka Sibiri on behalf of the Chief and opinion leaders.

He said that the gesture is aimed at rebuilding the community-initiated maternity facility that got ripped off by rainstorm some weeks ago.

Mr. Mohammed said due to the outlandish nature of communities in the district, many residents walked several kilometers to enable them have access to quality healthcare.

The MP after the presentation urged the community to continue to work in unity for the betterment of the Fatchu community.

The Assembly Member, Issaaka Sibiri thanked the MP for the swift response to the cry of the community and the many similar interventions that the MP has undertaken across the constituency.

The chief in his address described the Member of Parliament Mohammed Adams Sukparu as a God sent servant who holds the development of the constituency as his topmost priority.

Earlier, the Sissala West legislature made a similar donation to the Chief and people of Kandia.

He donated 50 bags of cement to the youth of Kandia to help them work on a culvert that the community has initiated.

He made the donation to the youth leaders of Kandia at a community dubber organized by the chief of Kandia.

The chief of Kandia, Kuoro Borsu Issahaku Wiadiku III also thanked the MP for the support and pledged that the donation will be put to use immediately.

The MP in a short address commended the chief and youth for displaying high sense of unity which has resulted in the project being initiated.

He reechoed earlier calls made to the government to intervene in fixing roads in the constituency which are unmotorable.

He expressed worry over the state of roads in the area which are in deplorable state and re-echoed earlier calls on the government to give priority attention to roads in the constituency especially the Kusali-Kandia-Buoti roads.

The Kusali-Buoti-Kandia road was constructed and gravelled under the GSOP project by the previous administration.

The major bridge between Kandia and Buoti however got broken in 2017 and has since not been fixed by the government, thus rendering the once best road within the area a death trap.

Residents of the community have since lost all hope of government working on their roads and decided to work on it through communal labour. They have also sought for support through social media since government has failed to heed to their plea.

The MP responded swiftly upon seeing the plea on social media; prompting him to put in place temporary measures to fix the roads before a permanent solution is found making the road motorable once again.
