The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) is seeking a partnership to revamp its hotel investments in Elmina and some parts of the country.
This partnership is to support a turnaround of these investments without necessarily outright sales.
The Director General of SSNIT, Kwesi Afreh Biney disclosed this to Journalists after an engagement as part of the firm's Media Connect Series in Accra.
“We have decided not to sell any hotel assets, but rather revamp them to meet international standards to attract more patrons. Hotels like Labadi Beach give us dividends every year, and others as well. There is a case for Elmina Beach, which we’re still engaging to get some partnerships to revamp it".
"This will not include outright sales at all”, he mentioned.
The Director General engaged selected Journalists to commence what it termed 'Media Connect' as a platform to interact with the media and share some updates on the operations of SSNIT.
He also highlighted some key policies that SSNIT is embarking on to increase enrollment onto the scheme.
On the concerns of prosecuting defaulting companies, Mr Afreh Biney hinted that his outfit is engaging these companies to have first-hand information on the reasons for their inability to pay.
