The 1998 Year Group of St. Peter's Senior High School has presented awards to four teachers of the School for their hard work and dedication to duty.
They are Mr Hypolite Adekemah, a General Science Tutor and currently the Assistant Headmaster of the School, Mr Emmanuel Asare, a Retired General Arts Tutor, Mr George Ankomah, Retired Agricultural Science Tutor, and Nana Osei Agyemang Prempeh II, a Retired Tutor of Business Programme, now a chief.
They received plaques and LED television sets.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Kwahu Nkwatia in the Kwahu East District, Mr Raymond A. Ekpale, the President of the Group, said the Association set aside Gh¢4,800.00 for the programme, which formed part of the School's 62nd Speech and Prize Giving Day.
He said the awardees had contributed immensely to the training of the students and, therefore, deserved to be awarded.
Mr Ekpale said the programme would be held annually to continuously reward hardworking teachers, whether retired or in active service.
The Group also had plans of increasing the number of awardees, every year, to serve as motivation and encourage other teachers to work hard.
Mr Ekpale urged the teachers to abide by the rules and regulations by the Ghana Education Service to support quality teaching and learning.
He entreated the students to take their studies seriously and desist from immoral activities that could destroy their future.
