Roads and Highways Minister, Kwesi Amoako-Atta has assured the chiefs and residents of the Sissala enclave in the Upper West Region that government is committed to fixing roads in the area.
He conceded that the protest from residents of the area over their exclusion from the thirty-five million euro funded farm access road project, was legitimate.
However, he said the government has taken steps to fix deplorable roads in the area referred to as the food basket of the region.
Kwesi Amoako-Atta gave the assurance when he met chiefs and members of the Sissala Youth forum as part of his three-day working visit to the Upper West region.
JoyNews Upper West correspondent, Rafiq Salam reports that the roads and highways Minister suffered the brunt commuters go through on the deplorable roads when his Landcruiser he was travelling in had a flat tyre.
