Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul has admonished the youth in the country to desist from mounting pressure on their Members of Parliament to facilitate their recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
According to him, the Ghana Armed Forces do not have provisions for MPs or any other persons as protocol recruitment into the security agency.
He explained that recruitment into Ghana Armed Forces is based on qualification and regional balance.
Also a special 10 per cent reservation for women which in recent times has been reviewed to 15 per cent as the basic laid down procedure and practices for recruiting Ghanaians into the institution.
Responding an urgent question filed by MP for Adaklu, Governs Kwame Agbodza over the procedure and processes used by the Ghana Armed Forces in recruiting people, Mr Nitiwul stressed that MPs do not have a stake in the selection process.
