Strategic Communications Africa Ltd. (Stratcomm Africa) has launched the 12th Annual Ghana Garden and Flower Show, set to take place from September 22 to 29, at the Efua Sutherland Children's Park in Accra.
This year’s theme, 'Greenovation: Green the Nation, Feed the Nation, Grow the Nation," emphasises the vital connection between environmental conservation, food security, economic empowerment, and green innovation.
"The theme underscores the urgent need for sustainable and innovative practices in horticulture, floriculture, and agriculture to ensure food security and economic growth.
The eight-day event will feature a range of activities, including:
- Exhibition: Showcasing a wide variety of gardening, horticulture, floriculture, and agriculture products.
- Green to Riches Conference: A youth-centred event that explores green business opportunities and sustainable development strategies, encouraging youth participation in floriculture and horticulture.
- Masterclasses: Expert-led sessions offering practical skills in sustainable gardening, environmental conservation, and innovative green technologies.
- Little Green Fingers: Special gardening workshops for children aimed at engaging the next generation of environmental stewards through interactive and educational activities.
Special events will include the Israeli Green Innovation Competition (IGIC), along with a host of entertaining and educational activities such as Drama Night and Music Night, designed to engage attendees of all ages.
Esther A. N. Cobbah, CEO of Stratcomm Africa said, "The Ghana Garden and Flower Show has always been more than just an event; it is part of a movement for a greener, more sustainable future.
"The show aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), addressing critical challenges like climate action and food security.
"This year’s theme reflects the essence of Stratcomm Africa’s 30-year journey, embodying our commitment to pioneering, innovating, and making a societal impact."
The president of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana, further stated, “In light of the current food price hikes, this year’s show aims to encourage Ghanaians to combine growing food and flowers in their home gardens, taking concrete steps towards a greener and more prosperous Ghana.”
