Tension is simmering at Wa T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School (SHS) after a confrontation between two students over a secret video recording led to an alleged stabbing on Tuesday night.
The altercation occurred around 9 p.m. when Hafiz Bayaawq accused his colleague, Iddrisu Ibrahim, popularly known among students as “Lincoln,” of recording him without his consent.
Bayaawq reportedly demanded the video be deleted, but Ibrahim allegedly refused, escalating the situation into a physical confrontation.
According to JoyNews' Upper West correspondent Rafiq Salam, the confrontation culminated in the alleged stabbing of Ibrahim.
He was rushed to the Upper West Regional Hospital in Wa and is said to be in critical but stable condition.
Police confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and is currently in custody, assisting with investigations.
In response to the incident, plain-clothed officers have been deployed to the school to monitor the situation and support ongoing inquiries.
