One member of the feuding factions in the Yong Dakpem Yili conflict has been granted bail by a Tamale Circuit Court.
Fuseini Chimsi handed himself over to the police on March 3 after the police sought a court warrant for his arrest.
The arrest followed some disturbance in the Yong Dakpem Yile community.
The factions had a disagreement over the performance of a funeral in the community. There was an already existing chieftaincy dispute between two brothers who are claiming rightful heir to the skin of Yong.
The disagreement escalated resulting in the burning of 25 houses, food stuff, motor bikes and other personal effects.
Eighteen people were arrested and detained by the police.
Subsequently, they were screened and eight were processed for court.
The court however remanded seven of them.
Their charges range from rioting with guns, possessing of firearms without authority, causing damage, threat of death, and harm among others.
