Convenor of the One Ghana Movement, Senyo Hosi, has described the current rice glut in the country as a reflection of policy failure.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, November 8, Mr Hosi lamented that "This is not a glass problem, clearly it is a policy failure, and I don't think the government takes rice seriously, they just pay lip service to it."
He also argued that it is a cost of local rice production, "It is a very simple matter, it is a cost matter." adding that while the cost of local rice continues to rise, imported rice is being brought into the country at cheaper prices.
