The Head of the Pentecost Church, Mataheko District has eulogised the late General Manager of The Multimedia Group’s Joy Brands, Elvis Kwashie as one who dedicated his life to the service of God and mankind.
Rev Johnny Blantyne in a sermon during the burial on Saturday said the late Kwashie was a studious Christian who took the work of God seriously.
Considering his responsibilities at work, the cleric applauded the late journalist for his timeliness and dedication to church activities.
“Koku was our District Secretary and throughout my ministry, he is about one of the best secretaries we’ve had.
“Looking at his work schedule and the workload on him, he did everything in perfection. He was so dependable. You needed him and he was there,” he stated.
He added, “At times in the afternoon, I will call him, ‘Elvis, I know you are hot but we have to do this.’ He will say ‘Daddy, wait for me.’ Within 30 minutes he will send it to me. Every correspondence is written by him.”
According to him, the news of the death of Mr Kwashie was both unexpected and shocking.
“Such are the things of God. The fact is that everyone will die, you cannot escape it,” he added.
In view of this, Reverend Blantyne further preached that life humans should practice humility.
He urged all and sundry to emulate the exemplary lifestyle of the late Manger.
“Today as we stand at the funeral of our brother, elder, our beloved, I want to put two things before you and ask you to choose one; life and death.”

Elvis Kwashie was a seasoned professional with more than two decades of experience in news media and communications (Print, Online, Radio and Television).
Before rejoining the Group in 2010 as News Editor, Elvis worked with Metropolitan Life Insurance Ghana as the Head of Corporate Marketing & Communications.
Before that, he worked mainly as a journalist with the Multimedia Group Limited, Network Herald and Groove FM.
He had rich experience in recruiting, grooming, coaching and supervising reporters and correspondents across the country. His strong leadership led to the receipt of numerous awards by journalists.
Mr Kwashie holds a certificate in Multimedia & Online Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Berlin-Germany, a certificate in Public Relations, Marketing and Advertising and a Diploma in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
While at MGL, he undertook courses on leadership at Harvard University in the United States.
The seasoned media professional passed on in the late hours of Tuesday, December 28, 2021, after a short illness at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
