The $35m Komenda Sugar Factory will be shutdown after six months in operation. The projected price offer by government for the purchase of sugar cane from farmers to feed the just inaugurated Komenda Sugar Manufacturing Factory poses a great risk to making the facility a viable entity if immediate measures are not put in place to ensure constant supply of raw material (sugar cane) to feed the factory.
2, 487 JOBS CREATED IN FIRST QUARTER - GIPC
The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) has attracted 39 newly registered investment projects into the country at an estimated value of $249.49 million between January to March representing the first quarter of 2016. The 2016 first quarter investments are expected to create a total of 2, 487 jobs.
GOV'T SECURES $2BN TO BUY COCOA BEANS
