Tomato farmers in the Upper East region have threatened to stop cultivating due to what they say is the lack of support from the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the farmers, they lost most of last season’s produce even though they followed recommendations by the ministry to boost production.
They further complain most of them are now in debt as a result of their losses, but their requests for assistance from the ministry have so far yielded no results.
Joy News’ Upper East Regional correspondent Joseph Osei has more in the attached audio.
