An unidentified trigger-happy young man has caused panic in Bawku after following the foot steps of ‘Bush Rambo’ and shooting indiscriminately Wednesday morning.
According to Joy FM Correspondent, Joseph Osei, the incident took place at about 8:40 Wednesday morning.
It happened between Sabongari and Natinga, forcing schools in the area to close early.
The shooter has been arrested and according to Upper East Regional Minister Mark Wayongo, given “some beating.”
Soldiers picked the adventurer up for disturbing the peace and subjected him to some beatings but not after he had managed to hide the gun with which he did the shooting.
Forty-two rounds of ammunition was however found on him.
The rest of Bawku is calm.
