Tullow Oil Ghana Limited is to spend 80 per cent of its funds earmarked for the development of communities on education, Dr Anthony Aubynn, Director of Corporate Affairs of Tullow Ghana Limited has announced.
He said the remaining 20 per cent would go into other social sectors such as health and the provision of potable water.
Tullow is taking on board six districts as its primary districts in the Western Region to benefit from the package.
The package which it terms as 80/20 policy forms part of Tullow's social responsibility to the communities, and it seeks to promote environmental protection, access to good health, access to education and enterprise development in its frontline districts.
Dr Aubynn announced this at a forum organised for the Media and allied organisations in Wa to deepen their understanding on the operations of the Company.
He said so far the Company had spent 7 million US dollars on social activities while 6,000 people had also benefited from its health activities.
The Corporate Affairs Director said under the long term plan for its catchments area, malaria control and support for National Archives would be considered.
He announced that 3.5 billion dollars had so far been invested on Jubilee Phase One.
