Two persons have reported killed at Natinga in Bawku in the Upper East Region.
Some two others were injured when an unknown assailant opened fire on a group of people at a drinking spot.
Reports by Asempa FM’s Correspondent, Osei Junior indicates that, the attack occurred at about 7:45 pm on the last day of 2009.
He said the bodies had been taken to the Bawku Municipal Hospital where the injured are receiving treatment.
The dead have been identified as Hamidu Ramani- 55 year old Storekeeper, and Roger Alinga, a 75-year-old Medical Assistant.
The Bawku Municipal Police Commander ASP Bright Oduro also confirmed the death of the two to Asempa News but refused to give details saying the violence is being investigated.
No arrest has so far been made.
Osei Junior adds that, the security officers are doing their best to avert any retaliation or community violence.
