Two more people have died from injuries sustained after the explosion at a former quarry site at Peabo in the Eastern Region.
The two were part of more than ten people who sustained various degrees of injuries and were being treated at the Nsawam Government hospital. This brings to three the number of people who have died so far.
In the blast that occurred last month, a thirty-eight-year-old Ibrahim Mohammed died after the explosion at the abandoned quarry site at Paebo in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern region.

According to reports, the Welder was in his house when a first explosion occurred and out of curiosity, he got closer to the site where he met his death after a second explosion.

Checks by the Eastern regional Environmental Protection Agency indicate a businessman who did not have a license was operating the quarry abandoned for more than four years.

The large number of houses that were also destroyed in the blast rendered hundreds homeless, according to the MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri.
Police in the region say they are keeping a 24 hour watch over the place due to the remaining explosives there.
