The University of Ghana has taken firm disciplinary action against over 100 students found guilty of various forms of misconduct, including disorderly behaviour and examination malpractices.
According to a statement released by the university on Monday, fourteen students have been suspended for two academic years following findings by the Disciplinary Committee.
The affected students were found to have engaged in acts that violated the university’s code of conduct.
They are prohibited from participating in any academic or extracurricular activities during the suspension period.
In a separate but related move, the university sanctioned ninety-seven students for engaging in examination malpractice. These penalties were handed down after formal hearings confirmed that the students had breached examination regulations.
Furthermore, two additional students have received formal reprimands for inappropriate conduct, although they were not suspended.
The university underscored its commitment to maintaining discipline and protecting academic integrity, stating that it “remains resolute in ensuring a safe and honourable learning environment for all students.”
