The Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra is asking Christians to use the period of Christmas to show kindness to the poor and vulnerable in the society.
The Most Reverend Charles Gabriel Palmer- Buckle says that will be the only way they will feel part of the Christmas season.
Christmas marks the birth of Jesus Christ which is observed on December 25 across the world.
It is a time of merrymaking with many Christians going to Church on the day and sharing gifts with friends, families and loved ones.
On the day, however, the Most Rev. Palmer-Buckle says Christians must go beyond the ordinary and show kindness to the less privileged in the society.
That is the only way he believes the celebration can be made meaningful to all.
“Each one of us should do something practical. Look around us in our environment, where we live and look for somebody who is poor, not necessarily a member of our family, not necessarily a friend but just an ordinary poor person.
“That is what made the difference in our lives when we were children because we could go from house-to-house singing and doing some little works and they gave biscuits, cake and minerals to drink because it was Christmas,” he said.
