Teenager Saleh Gomaa scored a late goal to hand Egypt a 2-1 victory over Ghana in the African Youth Championship opening match. Substitute Mahmoud Hammad broke the deadlock in the 67th minute, shortly before Ebenezer Assifuah leveled for Ghana. But ENPPI starlet Gomaa settled the game for the Young Pharaohs from the spot with just three minutes remaining.
