Being on the same record label, many would have expected singer Wendy Shay and Fantana to have a cordial relationship. Unfortunately, that is not the case.
Speculations are rife that the two RuffTown Records signees are beefing each other as Fantana has revealed that Wendy Shay is not her friend.
Even though she admits Wendy Shay linked her to Bullet, CEO of RuffTown Records, they do not have any relationship outside music.
“I wouldn’t say [Wendy Shay is my] friend like for me I’m very precise with where I put people in my life and everything. We are business partners we are all on one label so we are working to achieve our goals but outside of that we don’t really do anything else,” she told Dr Pounds on Hitz Gallery on Hitz FM.
‘Girls Hate On Girls’ singer added that, “and with me, I don’t really like mixing my business with pleasure. If I’m there for music, I’m there for music and if we were friends like outside, that would be different…”
“For me, like I wouldn’t really say we are friends but I do love her, we are on the same label. She was there before me so there are some things that she went though she can prevent me from going through,” Fantana stressed.
She said they have met a couple of times and they usually meet when they have some business to do.
“To be friends with somebody there has to be a vibe,” which she does not have Wendy Shay.
The singer, however, admitted that when she released her first song, Wendy Shay did promote it for her.
She also disclosed that Wendy Shay’s ‘Bedroom Commando’ is her favourite from her label mate.
Asked if she thinks Wendy hates her, Fantana responded, “No…I feel like everybody is minding their own business. I don’t think she hates on me I hope she doesn’t hate me. We don’t hate each other.”
“Ebony opened the door for me and Wendy” the singer stressed and will not accept comments that Wendy Shay opened the door for her.
Fantana, although signed to RuffTown Records, is managed by Blown GH.
