In a bid to reduce unemployment and promote sustainable mobility, Ghanaian electric mobility company Wahu has launched an ambitious campaign to create 1,000 jobs in 100 days.
The initiative will provide 1,000 electric bikes to dispatch riders, with a payment plan spread over two years.
Wahu’s CEO, Valarie Labi, highlighted the economic and environmental benefits of switching to electric bikes.

“Delivery riders on petrol bikes spend up to 80% of their income on fuel, which isn’t sustainable. Our Wahu e-bikes allow riders to make the same number of deliveries without the high cost of petrol,” she said.
The company aims to onboard 1,000 delivery riders across Ghana in the next 100 days.
The #ChargedWithJobs campaign addresses the immediate need for employment while also promoting greener transportation options.
Sylvester Nkansah, a creative director signing up for his second e-bike, shared his experience, “Some tried to talk me out of it, saying it’s expensive, but the appealing part is that you start without needing a down payment.”

The cost of each e-bike is $1,000, with flexible payment plans of either GH¢300 or GH¢400 weekly over two years.
The initiative not only tackles unemployment but also supports Ghana’s transition to sustainable transportation solutions.
