Manchester United got off to a good start to their campaign after overcoming Liverpool in the final of the International Champions Cup at Miami’s Sun Life Stadium.
A packed house in Florida watched as Reds skipper Steven Gerrard take over from Rickie Lambert to put Liverpool a goal up. Lambert having missed a penalty against AC Milan at the weekend stepped aside.
However, United weren’t down for long and goals from Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingaard all found the net to give United victory and give them their first ‘trophy’ of the season.
