Siblings of the late Joy Brands Manager, Elvis Koku Kwashie, have expressed their deepest grief over the loss of their beloved brother.
The [two brothers and two sisters] said that their ‘hearts are sore with the grieve of losing’ the seasoned journalist.
In a tribute read at Elvis Kwashie’s funeral at the State House, Saturday, the siblings recounted how the Late Joy Brands Manager had been a leader to the family.
“Exactly two years ago, Daddy sadly left us, and you naturally filled the leadership vacuum his demise created. You were our physical and spiritual leader.
“Efo Koku, we cannot believe we have to write a tribute for you at this time. We always dreamt of growing old together and taking care of each other,” portions of the tribute read.
They further eulogised the seasoned journalist for his legacies and impact on the many people he worked with.
“Efo Koku, there’s so much we cannot put on paper. We take consolation in the fact that you came into this world, and from your humble beginnings, you made so much impact.
“In fact, we have been overwhelmed by how many people who told us about the way you touched them since your demise.”
Elvis’ siblings promised to keep alive his dreams for his three children.
About Elvis Kwashie
Elvis Kwashie was a seasoned professional with more than two decades of experience in news media and communications (Print, Online, Radio and Television).
Before rejoining the Group in 2010 as News Editor, Elvis worked with Metropolitan Life Insurance Ghana as the Head of Corporate Marketing & Communications.
Before that, he worked mainly as a journalist with The Multimedia Group Limited, Network Herald and Groove FM.
He had rich experience in recruiting, grooming, coaching and supervising reporters and correspondents across the country. His strong leadership led to the receipt of numerous awards by journalists.
Mr Kwashie holds a certificate in Multimedia and Online Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Berlin-Germany, a certificate in Public Relations, Marketing and Advertising and a Diploma in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
While at MGL, he undertook courses on leadership at Harvard University in the United States.
The seasoned media professional passed on in the late hours of Tuesday, December 28, 2021, after a short illness at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
