Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) going to the polls this Saturday to elect a flagbearer for the party have been urged to choose a candidate with a clear vision for the country’s development.
Addressing NPP members and delegates on Sunday during a campaign visit by Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to his constituency, the former Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South East, Kwame Adabo, said that among those contesting the flagbearer position, Dr Bawumia was the best choice because of his experience and vision for Ghana.
“We need someone with a vision for Ghana’s development,” the former MP said, as he recalled some of the policies championed by the former Vice President.
“Dr Bawumia brought gold for reserves, gold for oil and many other initiatives. Ghana awaits him. I strongly believe that God has a purpose for him in this country,” he stated.
“We know the impact he made as Vice President, and we are confident that when he becomes President, Ghana will see a lot of progress. That is why we are solidly behind you.”
Mr Adabo appealed to his constituents and delegates across the country to support Dr Bawumia, whom he said would lead the NPP to victory in 2028.
“So I urge all delegates to remain solidly behind Dr Bawumia, who will lead us to victory. Ignore those who come with money to ask you not to support Dr Bawumia,” he added.
